SS Lesson #12–Christ’s Church and the Law

This article is a study of the law of God from Eden to Eden, that is Eden lost to Eden restored. The aim is to determine if this law has been changed in the transfer from Adam to the Remnant people of God. This transfer is likened to the baton in a relay, and we note with candor, that the same baton handed at the start of the race must be delivered at the finishing post, in order to determine a successful race and ultimate winner. Similarly, in this spiritual race for salvation, we aim to prove that the same law which was handed down to Adam prior to sin’s tarnishing the human race, must be discovered in the final consummation of all things.  The Sabbath School Lesson Study Guide is here:

From Adam to Noah:

Central to the directive given Adam is the “command” from YHWH, to have “no other gods before him,” ( ) by loving “YHWH his God with all his heart, soul and might.” ( ) This relationship of love was intended to bond Adam to his God as “one,” and bond Adam to his wife as “one.” It is to this oneness which Y’shuah speaks when he said, “father let them be ONE, even as you and I are ONE.”( John 17: 21). It is impressive that the centrality of the “two commandments on which hang all the law and the prophets” (Matt. 22: 40) were handed down and revealed to Adam while in Eden. In a sense, we can honestly say that God introduced Adam and Eve to both the “moral” and “ceremonial” law, ere  sin was known in the family tree of man! This is an important concept which I’ll develop below.

Special note if interest:  The Bible nowhere teach the concept of “moral” vs. “ceremonial” laws, and I treat this later as an invention of Roman Catholicism.  Therefore whenever I shall use these terms, it is purely from an almost satirical nature, to show how incomplete this unbiblical concept really is with respect to the totality of the Torah.

The Ceremonial Law Before Sin?

“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” Gen. 1: 14.

When we realize that there were no Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter seasons, respectively, as we now do since the flood (Gen. 8:22), nor were there rainy season and dry (drought) season (Gen. 2: 5), we will better appreciate the truth that these “seasons” in Eden served for the sacred festivals, divinely appointed times—in Hebrew, moedims—during which man was to appear before his maker, in harmony with the rest of the unfallen worlds, in harmonious worship to their King. It should also be noted that, in Eden, there were no planting season and harvest season, for the tree of life “bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month” (Rev. 22: 2), it reinforces the conclusion that the “seasons” in Gen. 1: 14, are purely spiritual, or sacred, in nature, bespeaking the annual and lunar festivals.

“And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,’” Gen. 1: 14, NIV.

The NIV actually correctly translates the Hebrew “moed” to be “sacred times,” for that is truly what they were, and before sin, we see that these sacred “days and years” were already recognized and established in the punctuation of time, prior to the corruptions caused by sin, in the family of Adam!

That these sacred times of the so-called “ceremonial law” will also be observed in the New Earth, the Bible further testifies through Isaiah that, “And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.” Isa. 66: 23.

Note carefully that nowhere in the so-called “moral law” is the New Moon called for, although the Sabbath is there mentioned, yet in the so-called “ceremonial law,” which most Christian Denominations including the SDA, teach has been nailed to the Cross with Christ, we find the “new moon,” which marks the new month so as to calibrate to the annual festivals. For example Passover is on the 14th of day of the first month (new moon), while the Day of Atonement is on the 10th day of the seventh new moon (month), and Tabernacles, accordingly commences on the 15th day of the seventh new moon (read Lev. 23: 5-40). Therefore, central to understanding when the appointed times are, is to know the timing of the “new moon” in the Divine calendar, and this knowledge was taught to Adam prior to the fall. It should not surprise us then, to find out that it was at the time of the evening sacrifice, in “the cool of the day,” that YHWH appeared for His appointment with Adam and Eve:

“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.” Gen. 3: 8.

The phrase “cool of the day,” is an idiomatic expression used in reference to the evening tide, when the sun’s heat is not as intense as at the meridian, or noontide heat. Hence, it was at the time, which after sin, is called “the time of the evening sacrifice.” (1 Ki. 18: 29). The truth towers forth in clarity of all the associated facts gathered above, that the notion of the so-called ceremonial law was a truth early known to the sinless pair in Eden, devoid of the sacrifices. When sin came into the human experience, the Creator supplemented sacrifices as a means of symbolically atoning for man’s sins, till the perfect Sacrifice should come, in the person of His Son, Y’shuah. Even the weekly Sabbath, which in Eden had not known sacrifices, would be tainted with the blood of animals in a double sacrifice on that day.

“And on the Sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and the drink offering thereof: This is the burnt offering of every Sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.” Num. 28: 9, 10.

So we see, and for some in the Adventist faith, it will be the first time realizing that the weekly Sabbath was not exempt from its share of double sacrifices, to which Christ would later comment, “have ye not read in the law, how that on the Sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?” Matt. 12: 5. Christ was here teaching that on the Sabbath days, the priests profaned the Sabbath by conducting a double-duty sacrifice on that day, yet they were counted as “blameless” in God’s sight. The Sabbath, therefore, had more bloodshed committed on it than had the weekly days, yet this was in keeping with the commandments of YHWH. The sacrifices therefore, are no reason to accept or reject a holy day, it only requires YHWH’s declaration on any given day, and that alone makes it holy.

From Noah to Abraham

With this knowledge then, it will not frustrate us to learn that Noah knew the difference between “clean” versus “unclean” animals (Gen. 7: 2, 3), Abraham was “circumcised” (Gen. 17:10), knew the importance of “tithes” (Gen. 14: 20), and worshipped with “unleavened bread” (Gen. 19: 3) long before the law was repeated at Sinai. In other words, the so-called ceremonial law was in force thousands of years before Moses, and God used him to simply write down the tenets of the Torah, which in prior ages had been known by the patriarchs, and orally handed down from one generation to the next.

From Abraham to Moses

The Quarterly suggests that, “The Bible gives no criteria for God’s call of Abraham.”—Tuesday, June 17, 2014. This is not accurate, but having missed the point as to why the “sons of God” were so named, it caused them to equally miss the point regarding the call of Abraham. Let’s now open our spiritual eyes and see more clearly:

Seth’s lineage was known as the “sons of God.” The Bible record is clear, “And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.” Gen. 4: 26. Seth’s descendants are the ones who called upon YHWH, and were therefore known as the Sons of Elohim (God). Noah was a descendant of Seth, thereby making him one of “the sons of God.” The righteous lineage was transferred to Shem, and so Shem’s descendants after the flood carried the title “sons of God.” Abraham is from the line of Shem, which also make him one of “the sons of God.” Just as there is a goodly remnant throughout all ages who have kept the truth, like the athletes in a relay passing the baton, we can see a clear line of transition points of the baton of truth, from one generation to the next. It is also important to note that the baton does not get changed in this relay of life, and the student of the Scriptures must assess the baton from Eden and closely compare it at each change point to see if it has been tampered with, for at the end of the race, we must have the same baton handed off at the start of the race!

I shall now quote from an earlier article I wrote this year:

That Which Was “Handed Down” To The Saints

Since the Christian Church is “built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, [with] Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone,” (Eph. 2: 20), the question must now be asked: what is it that they have collectively “handed down to the saints” once and for all time?  Did they leave for us, Christmas Day, New Years, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Parents Day (Mother’s & Father’s), All Saints Day, Thanksgiving Day, Sunday as the Sabbath, among other church-appointed and globally recognized holidays? Though many Christians are loath to doing so, I believe the candid reader can honestly state without equivocation, that none of the above-mentioned days of Christian import have been “handed down” to us by the prophets, Jesus Christ or the apostles themselves.  This being true, we must here ask other pertinent questions:  From whence came these church holidays or holy days? And more importantly, in terms of holy days, which are the ones that were “handed down” to us by the three principals mentioned in Eph. 2: 20?  The correct answer to these questions will lead us on the path of rediscovery, a rediscovery which will be as real to us as was the doctrine of Justification by Faith to the early Protestants of the 16th century.

The Apostle Paul has often likened the Christian’s life to the relays of the Greco-Roman Olympiads of his days, and has left on record, these inspiring words: “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Heb. 12:1.

In the Olympics, one of the most emotional parts of the games is the relays, the science of which is the effective passing of the baton from one athlete to another.  Those who master this feat in human athleticism and ultimately win their respective games, must have a number of things correct:  (1) They must correctly transfer the baton from the exhausted athlete to the one standing in wait, (2) the waiting athlete must carry to the finish line the same baton that was “handed down,” or delivered at the start of the race, (3) the transferred baton must be carried with a sense of urgency and duty while the athlete endures the grueling competition from the fast-stepping thuds of their challengers for the prize, and (4), it is utterly pointless for an athlete, even with Bolt-like speed, to break the finish line without the baton in hand, and expect to win the prize!  Such an athlete would be disqualified for that race.

My objective here is not to give the mechanics of good baton transfers in a competitive athletic relay, but to learn from this man-made sport the value of the sacred treasure with which we have been entrusted, and commanded to earnestly contend for, as we faithfully transmit it from one generation to the next.

There are today many Christian apologists who will lisp Jude 1:3, and present themselves as the defenders of the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints, yet they break with impunity God’s holy commandments, “and teach men so,” (Matt. 5: 19!), and expect for their wilful transgression to be specially honored of Christ, and called “great in the kingdom of heaven!”  It is high time then for us to examine the baton of purported truth we see in the Christian world today, and determine if it is the same baton of truth which was “handed down” by the three principals in this life-enduring relay.  To do this, we must examine the record of what they taught and practiced, and compare it against what we have today.  If there is a “different baton” of truth today, we must take one more step—determine where, when and by whom the change has occurred.—Happy Mother’s Day, Garrick Augustus, May 8, 2014.

The Quarterly’s attempt to excoriate Abraham for his cowardice in the face of threats to his personal safety is to miss the mark completely. Here it states, “He does not appear to have had the righteous profile of Noah. In fact, soon after the call he proved himself to be cowardly and deceptive (Gen. 12:11-13), violating God’s law.” –Tuesday, June 17, 2014.

Noah the drunkard, who was so intoxicated that he fall asleep naked, exposing himself to the his children, and thus world?

20And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: 21And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. 22And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without… 24And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.” Gen. 9: 20-24.

The phrase “done unto him,” is wrapped in mystery and wonder, as to suggest that Ham had more than merely a sight at his father’s nakedness, but must have gone beyond the pale of merely looking to carrying out some displeasing act against his father. We will better know of these details in glory, if it is of any importance then. Suffice it to say, that Ham did not “honor” his father as required in the 5th commandment, but treated him with disrespect. I bring this out to show that it is a cheap shot to compare Abraham with the “righteous” Noah, for none is righteous, no not one! Jesus Christ, the only sinless One, came to save sinners, of whom I am chief, and the story of the Bible is the story of sinners, it is the story of how the loving YHWH stooped down to rescue mankind from the bottomless pit of degradation and sin into the glorious liberty of his eternal kingdom. O, what a mighty God we serve!

From Moses to Jesus

“Therefore you shall keep the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments which I command you today, to observe them.” Deut. 7: 11.

It is of interest to do a baton check at this juncture. We find Moses handing off “the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments” to Israel. This was formerly given to Abraham: “Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.” Gen. 26: 5. So far we see that the baton of truth has not been switched, and we can have confidence that that which was given by YHWH to Adam, has been safely transferred down to Moses, unabridged. We are also confident that since Moses’s teachings reached to the time of Christ, that the same baton was available to Him, the original Law Giver, and it must be of interest to us to determine if He has changed the baton at his exchange point to His Apostles and the Early Church.

From Jesus To The Remnant

The Bible is clear that Jesus practiced the whole law, not just the Ten Commandments, as many Adventists suppose. As a matter of custom through divine obligation He not only kept the law, but taught men so. When challenged about the great commandment, Jesus Christ (Y’shuah) responded thusly:
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matt. 22: 38-40.

It is profound that Christ saw “all the law” summarized in these two commandments which were not quoted from the Ten Commandments (so-called Moral Law), but from the full body of the law, the so-called ceremonial law! What does this mean to us today as Christians, and more so as Adventist Christians professing to be the remnant? A lot!

Baton Check!

When Was This Baton Of Truth Changed?

With the above catalogue of divinely appointed holy days, which were “handed down” to us by the Founder of our faith, clearly identified, we must now consult church history to see when this order had been changed, and if He authorized it.  The evidence is clear that somewhere along the path of time, since the death of the faithful Apostles, the sacred baton of truth has been switched on us, and a new baton has been extended to the church in its place! The Christian Church was set apart as the trustees to whom was bequeathed this sacred trust—the divine baton of truth, to be kept unsullied from the encroachments of heathenism, the superstitions of paganism or the denegation of modernism.  Till her glorious presentation on the grand coronation day for all saints (2 Tim. 4: 8), the saints are to walk in the light of “the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ.” (Rev. 14: 12).  But alas! Those commandments have been changed and otherwise tampered with by an interloper, who is no more pious than were the Scribes and Pharisees of Christ’s days!

This new baton, which many who are ignorant hold as “the original”, operates at the exclusion and absolute negation of YHWH’s Holy Days!  We know this to be true simply on account of the fact that this verily might be the first time the reader has confronted these divine requirements, which have been laid down by the Almighty One in the Scriptures, given for all true worshippers to observe.  And since these divinely appointed Holy Days are very unfamiliar to Christians in general, and have been relegated by theologians as “Jewish feasts” in particular, we must again ask the question: By Whom, Where and When were these holy assemblies removed from the liturgical calendar of the Christian church?  I believe I have found the answer, and will now share it with you, in hopes that it will not simply give you an intellectual ascent to the confession of truth, but a heart surrender to the Author of Truth.  Here is the record:

April 26, 1902

Dear Friend: Your note was forwarded to me here where I reside at present. …I still offer $1,000 to anyone who can prove to me, from the Bible alone, that I am bound under pain of grievous sin to keep Sunday holy. We keep Sunday in obedience to the law of the Catholic Church. The Church made this law long after the Bible was written; hence the law is not in the Bible. The Catholic Church abolished not only the Sabbath, but all the Jewish Festivals.

Those who deny the authority of the Catholic Church and obey only the Bible must answer correctly the following: 1. Where does the Bible teach that we must keep Sunday holy; 2. Where does it teach that we must keep Sunday once a week and not once a year like Christmas; 3. Where does it teach that we must keep Easter always on the 1st Sunday after the full moon of the Vernal Equinox; 4. In Lev 23 you find 7 holy days binding as strictly as the Sabbath. Where does the Bible say that they are abolished? … Here also you obey the Catholic Church and not the Bible.”

Signed, T. Enright CSSR. The Mission Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Detroit, Michigan. [Italics and emphasis added.]

So, we see in this letter how Cardinal Enright has correctly informed us that it was the Roman Catholic Church (his own denomination), “long after the Bible was written,” that has been the responsible party for these changes in the Christian Church’s worship calendar.  In other words, the Church of Rome has deliberately changed the baton that was “handed down” by the fathers to the Saints for future ages!  Prophesy has actually placed us on alert that such a day would have come.  Speaking of Papal Rome, the Lord through Daniel declared: “He will defy the Most High and oppress the holy people of the Most High. He will try to change their sacred festivals and laws, and they will be placed under his control for a time, times, and half a time.” Dan. 7: 25, NLT.  In light of this prophecy, it is worth repeating a line from the Cardinal’s letter, juxtaposed with the prophetic pen of Inspiration:

“The Catholic Church abolished not only the Sabbath, but all the Jewish Festivals.” “He will try to change their sacred festivals and laws.”

Do you see how the “he,” of Dan 7: 25 accurately forecasts the mission of the Roman Catholic Church, who has accepted responsibility for having “abolished” what is today represented as “Jewish Festivals”? The evidence is clear also, that what is today pawned off as the original baton of truth, handed down by the three principals in Eph. 2: 20, is a false baton, one that was “changed,” and when we get to the finishing line we shall be disqualified by the Master, on the grounds of having ran a bogus relay, so to speak.  In more accurate Biblical language, this is how the Founder of our Faith sees it:

“(11) And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: (12) and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.” Matt. 22: 11, 12, KJV.

The servant was rendered “speechless” because he knew his master’s will and failed to do it—he wilfully refused to correctly attire for the sumptuous wedding feast.  There is another wedding festival to which we are invited, and Christ is calling you today, he is calling me today to start our wedding festival dress rehearsals, and in our obedience to His Torah, we will have honored all His requirements.

“(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22)  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23)  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (24) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.” Matt. 7: 21-24, KJV.

Since we are saved unto good works, let us be obedient to all that he has taught us in Lev. 23, and teach men so, for said He, “ye shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

On the question of whose authority changed the holy appointed festivals which were handed down to the Church by the three principals in Eph. 2: 20, here is the Roman Catholic Philosopher and patron saint, Saint Thomas Aquinas:

  • “As to the Sabbath, which was a sign recalling the first creation, its place is taken by the Lord’s Day, which recalls the beginning of the new creature in the Resurrection of Christ. In like manner other solemnities of the Old Law are supplanted by new solemnities because the blessings vouchsafed to that people foreshadowed the favours granted us by Christ. Hence the feast of the Passover gave place to the feast of Christ’s Passion and Resurrection; the feast of Pentecost when the Old Law was given, to the feast of Pentecost on which was given the Law of the living spirit; the feast of the New Moon, to the feast of the Blessed Virgin, when appeared the first rays of the sun, that is Christ, by the fullness of grace; the feast of Trumpets, to the feasts of the Apostles; the feast of Expiation [Day of Atonement], to the feasts of Martyrs and Confessors; the feast of Tabernacles, to the feast of the Church Dedication; the feast of the Assembly and Collection, to the feast of the Angels, or else to the feasts of All Saints.”—Saint Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica, Question 103, Of The Duration Of The Ceremonial Precepts, Article 3. [Added]; Also found in The “Summa Theologica” of St. Thomas Aquinas, Volume 6, pp. 233-234; also at: Google Books.

Saint Thomas’ theology, you see, is a direct repudiation against, and replacement of, the divinely appointed holy convocations called forth in Lev. 23.  In obedience to that command, I dutifully urge you to take pause and contemplate all that we have discussed up to this point, and make a Joshua-like commitment to yourself and to the Most High, YHWH: “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Jos 24:15.—Happy Mother’s Day, Garrick Augustus, May 8, 2014.

Further Study And Considerations (Friday):

“And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of Godand have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Rev. 12: 17, NKJV

When we Adventists read the phrase “the commandments of God,” we automatically conclude that they have reference only to the Ten Commandments, but a closer study of the word “commandments” from the Greek will help to remove the blinders.

This word “commandments” is the Greek Entolē (pronounced en-to-lae), and is defined as,an order, command, charge, precept, injunction; that which is prescribed to one by reason of his office; a commandment; a prescribed rule in accordance with which a thing is done; a precept relating to lineage, of the Mosaic precept concerning the priesthood; ethically used of the commandments in the Mosaic law or Jewish tradition.”—Strong’s Greek Dictionary.

This is word is used in various places of the New Testament to speak broadly of the law without specifically denoting the Ten Commandments, such as: (Matt. 22: 38, 40; 1 Cor. 14: 37; Eph. 2: 15; Heb. 9: 19). The searcher for truth will discover in the above mentioned verses, as well as other passages, that the word “commandment” in Rev. 12: 17 is not exclusive to the ten, but inclusive of the Torah, the so-called “Jewish law,” for even Christ used this word and applied it to the whole law, when he was challenged about the “great commandment.”

Further, in the Revelation, we are also admonished concerning “the saints”, in conflict with the Beast, and the Scriptures declare: “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Rev. 14: 12. This is the same Greek word used in Rev. 12: 17, as discussed above.

In the handing over of the baton of truth to the Apostles and vicariously to the Early Church, Christ was clear in that which he passed on, that it was unchanged from Moses’s time and before: “19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matt. 28: 19-20.

Christ therefore, at His coming, when He sees that the flock is being fed “meat in due season,” (Matt. 24: 45), will definitely be expecting his “faithful servant” to be teaching the flock “all things” he “commanded.” What are some of those things He has commanded us to observe and teach?

  • Love to God and Love to Man (Matt. 22: 35-40). This contains all the statutes, judgments and commandments of YHWH
  • Passover (Luke 22: 13-20)
  • Humility—washing one another’s feet (John 13: 1-22)

I shall close with another quotation from an earlier article I published on this topic:

Today, you and I have the opportunity, and yea, the high calling to change the Church and the World for Y’shuah’s sake. As a denomination, we did this with the Sabbath, at a time when the general Christian world called the first day of the week the Sabbath. We can start now, with the rediscovery of the original baton of truth, by giving heed to all his commandments and appointed times so clearly outlined for us in Leviticus 23. Let us start this tradition today, “and teach men so.” How wonderful to the cause of truth and righteousness if the World Church should today embrace the totality of the Torah in its theology and practice! There are some shocking beneficial results which will follow, among these will be a revival and reformation of true worship, a respectful name for Christianity, a revival of primitive godliness, the evangelization of the world, and the ushering of the Messiah’s Kingdom of glory. The days are coming, and yea, they are at the doors when this prophecy will be fulfilled:

“Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.” Nahum 1: 15.

Let us hasten that glad day, by His grace—the day when Judah keeps her solemn feasts, the day when “the wicked,” the tares, are no longer comingled with the righteous, the day when YHWH’s kingdom is restored! O Christian, perform your vows and “keep His solemn feasts!”—Happy Mother’s Day, Garrick Augustus, May 8, 2014.

This article is but a small snippet form a larger document found at the EG White Estate ( ).  I have placed it here because so many of our people in the Seventh-day Adventist Church believe “every word” written by Ellen G. White were so directed by God, causing them to take an “all or nothing” approach to her printed works, for they are as inspired as the Bible. Such teachings as the veneration of the Christmas Tree, the sweeping approval given to the book Thoughts on Daniel and The Revelation, by Uriah Smith, which has had 38 cardinal errors corrected after this “inspired” approval, and the notion that Old Jerusalem never would be built up again, must be gauged by the honest and responsible counsel given by our theologians in the extract below.

Before reading that extract, I call the reader’s attention to an interesting letter from Elder Arthur L. White, Ellen White’s son (Grandson), back in 1934, pertaining to comments she allegedly made regarding the book, Thoughts on Daniel And The Revelation, by SDA elder and Bible expositor,Uriah Smith:

“Among our older workers there are a number who have thought that Mrs. White had written words to the effect that she had seen in vision an angel standing by the side of Elder Uriah Smith helping him as he wrote the book above referred to.  However, a careful search of her manuscript files has failed to disclose such a statement among her writings, and we believe that there is no such statement in print…. Elder A.C. Bordeau, some years ago made the following statement:

” ‘Many years ago, when the late Elder Uriah Smith was writing “Thoughts on Daniel and the Revelation,” while Elder James White and Ellen G. White were at my house in Enosburg, Vt., they received by mail a roll of printed proof-sheets on “Thoughts on Revelation” that Brother Smith had sent to them.  Brother White read portions of these to the company, and expressed much pleasure  and satisfaction because they were so concisely and clearly written.  Then Sister White stated what she had been shown, as follows: —

” ‘ “The Lord is inspiring Brother Smith — leading  his mind by His Spirit, and an angel is guiding his hand in writing these ‘Thoughts on Daniel and the Revelation.’ ”

” ‘I was present when these words were spoken.

” ‘(Signed) A.C. Bordeau.’ ”

“In estimating the accuracy of the words attributed to Mrs. White by Elder Bordeau,” continues Elder Arthur White, in regard to Elder Bordeau’s statement, “one must bear in mind that a number of years had elapsed between the incident related and its recital.  We cannot consistently believe that she intended to convey the idea that Elder Smith was inspired to such a degree that his writings were inerrant.

* * *

“Elder W. C. White testifies that he was present when Elder Smith was persuaded to make thirty-eight correctionsin the earlier edition [This is the edition which was highly favored by EGW] of Thoughts on Daniel and the Revelation, but the knowledge of this does not at all diminish his enthusiasm in behalf of the sale of this wonderful book.” [added]

Given the wide circulation of this book, our church was moved to write a statement clarifying the above-challenged assumption that the book was “inspired”:

My own studies provided me this treasure trove on authentic Ellen White approvals of the book, and they came very near to saying the book is inspired. Take the following statement for example:

“The grand instruction contained in Daniel and Revelation has been eagerly perused by many in Australia. This book has been the means of bringing many precious souls to a knowledge of the truth. Everything that can be done should be done to circulate Thoughts on Daniel and the Revelation. I know of no other bookthat can take the place of this one. It is God’s helping hand.” 21MR 444.3 ; [1901]

This “inspired” statement must be understood in the framework of the available light shining at that time, and even our beloved Ellen G. White was completely ignorant of the truths of many of the prophecies expounded on in elder Smith’s “thoughts.” She saw these “thoughts” to be unparalleled in clarity, yet we now know that there are major errors in that book, which have miserably failed the test of time! My point is simply this, the “all or nothing” approach to Ellen White’s writings, will cause us to stumble at the plain teachings of the Bible, simply because she went to her grave being unenlightened on those parts of the Scriptures which the Holy Spirit had kept shut (see Dan. 12: 4, 9) for the time then present.–GA

***********************************************************************************”I was led to conclude and most firmly believe that every word that you ever spoke in public or private, that every letter you wrote under any and all circumstances, was as inspired as the ten commandments. I held that view with absolute tenacity against innumerable objections raised to it by many who were occupying prominent positions in the [Adventist] cause,” wrote Dr. David Paulson to Ellen White on April 19, 1906. Deeply concerned over the nature of Ellen White’s inspiration, Paulson wondered whether he should continue to hold such a rigid view. In the process he raised the question of verbal inspiration and the related issues of infallibility and inerrancy. Since a correct understanding of such issues is of crucial importance in reading Ellen White and/or the Bible, we will examine each of them in this section.

Mrs. White replied to Paulson on June 14, 1906. “My brother,” she penned, “you have studied my writings diligently, and you have never found that I have made any such claims [to verbal inspiration], neither will you find that the pioneers in our cause ever made such claims” for her writings. She went on to illustrate inspiration in her writings by referring to the inspiration of the Bible writers. Even though God had inspired the Biblical truths, they were “expressed in the words of men.” She saw the Bible as representing “a union of the divine and the human.” Thus “the testimony is conveyed through the imperfect expression of human language, yet it is the testimony of God” (Selected Messages, book 1, pp. 24-26).

Such sentiments represent Ellen White’s consistent witness across time. “The Bible,” she wrote in 1886, “is written by inspired men, but it is not God’s mode of thought and expression. It is that of humanity. God, as a writer, is not represented. . . . The writers of the Bible were God’s penmen, not His pen. . . .

“It is not the words of the Bible that are inspired, but the men that were inspired. Inspiration acts not on the man’s words or his expressions but on the man himself, who, under the influence of the Holy Ghost, is imbued with thoughts. But the words receive the impress of the individual mind. The divine mind is diffused. The divine mind and will is combined with the human mind and will; thus the utterances of the man are the word of God” (ibid., p. 21).

We see the problematic nature of the issue of verbal inspiration illustrated in the life of D. M. Canright, at one time a leading minister in the denomination, but its foremost critic between 1887 and 1919. Canright bitterly opposed Ellen White. His 1919 book against her asserted that “every line she wrote, whether in articles, letters, testimonies or books, she claimed was dictated to her by the Holy Ghost, and hence must be infallible” (Life of Mrs. E. G. White, p. 9). We have seen above that Ellen White herself took just the opposite position, but that didn’t stop the damage being done by those with a false theory of inspiration.

Before we go any further, perhaps we should define our terms. Webster’s New World Dictionary describes “infallible” as “1. incapable of error; never wrong. 2. not liable to fail, go wrong, make a mistake, etc.” It renders “inerrant” as “not erring, making no mistakes.” It is essentially those definitions that many people import into the realm of the Bible and Ellen White’s writings.

As to infallibility, Mrs. White plainly writes, “I never claimed it; God alone is infallible.” Again she stated that “God and heaven alone are infallible” (Selected Messages, book 1, p. 37). While she claimed that “God’s Word is infallible” (ibid., p. 416), we will see below that she did not mean that the Bible (or her writings) were free from error at all points.

To the contrary, in the introduction to The Great Controversy she sets forth her position quite concisely: “The Holy Scriptures are to be accepted as an authoritative, infallible revelation of His will” (p. vii). That is, she did not claim that the work of God’s prophets is infallible in all its details, but that it is infallible in terms of revealing God’s will to men and women. In a similar statement Ellen White commented that “His Word . . . is plain on every point essential to the salvation of the soul” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 5, p. 706).

W. C. White treats the same issue when he observes: “Where she has followed the description of historians or the exposition of Adventist writers, I believe that God has given her discernment to use that which is correct and in harmony with truth regarding all matters essential to salvation. If it should be found by faithful study that she has followed some expositions of prophecy which in some detail regarding dates we cannot harmonize with our understanding of secular history, it does not influence my confidence in her writings as a whole any more than my confidence in the Bible is influenced by the fact that I cannot harmonize many of the statements regarding chronology” (Selected Messages, book 3, pp. 449, 450; italics supplied).

In summary, it appears that Mrs. White’s use of the term infallibility has to do with the Bible being completely trustworthy as a guide to salvation. She doesn’t mix that idea with the concept that the Bible or her writings are free from all possible errors of a factual nature.

Thus the faithful reader’s belief is not shaken if he or she discovers that Matthew attributed a Messianic prophecy, written centuries before Christ’s birth, to Jeremiah when it was actually Zechariah who inferred that Christ would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (see Matt. 27:9, 10; Zech. 11:12, 13). Nor will one be dismayed over the fact that 1 Samuel 16:10, 11 lists David as the eighth son of Jesse, but 1 Chronicles 2:15 refers to him as the seventh. Neither will faith be affected because the prophet Nathan wholeheartedly approved of King David’s building of the Temple but the next day had to backtrack and tell David that God didn’t want him to build it (see 2 Sam. 7; 1 Chron. 17). Prophets make mistakes.

The same kind of factual errors can be discovered in Ellen White’s writings as are found in the Bible. The writings of God’s prophets are infallible as a guide to salvation, but they are not inerrant or without error. Part of the lesson is that we need to read for the central lessons of Scripture and Ellen White rather than the details.

What is important to remember at this point is that those who struggle over such problems as inerrancy and absolute infallibility are fighting a human-made problem. It is not anything that God ever claimed for the Bible or Ellen White ever claimed for the Bible or her writings. Inspiration for her had to do with the “practical purposes” (Selected Messages, book 1, p. 19) of human and divine relationships in the plan of salvation. We need to let God speak to us in His mode, rather than to superimpose our rules over God’s prophets and then reject them if they don’t live up to our expectations of what we think God should have done. Such an approach is a human invention that places our own authority over the Word of God. It makes us the judges of God and His Word. But such a position is not Biblical; nor is it according to the way Ellen White has counseled the church. We need to read God’s Word and Mrs. White’s writings for the purpose for which He gave them and not let our modern concerns and definitions of purpose and accuracy come between us and His prophets.

***********************************************************************************Any other usage of these writings will leave room for much apologetics.

Seventh-day Adventist Church Says Pasadena Public Health Director Dr. Eric Walsh Does Not Represent Church!

Garrick Augustus, May 25, 2014 (Revised)

My heart is further saddened today, as my research has shown that the parent organization of the Altadena Seventh-day Adventist Church, where Dr. Eric Walsh serves as the associate pastor, has disavowed and essentially disowned him!  I have been following this topic, because the decisions made on this case, can affect the life and livelihood of many Seventh-day Adventist Christians who work in the public arena.

Read my previous blog on this topic here:

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is considered the world’s bastion of hope for religious liberty.  Our church has dedicated a large part of its mission, for over a century, to advocate on behalf of the religious liberties of her parishioners, as well as the liberties of others, not of her faith.  Whenever church members get caught in difficult places on the job, the Office of Religious Liberty is contacted, and generally, they have been able to defuse the situation to the mutual benefit of the employer and employee.  But in the case of Dr. Eric Wash, our church has literally thrown him under the oncoming train!  Let’s analyze the press release issued by the Southern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (SCC), also located here:  (You owe it to yourself to click on the link and read this document prepared on denominational letter head).

Can you really imagine that the above statement (press release) came from a people who profess to hold the Bible as their only rule of faith and duty!  What does this tell us of our chances of getting legal representation by our Church when confronted and bullied on the job for our faith?  Is this a friend or a foe? is the question we ought to be asking ourselves.

My Friends, this is not the movement which began in 1844, and organized in 1863; what we now have is an ecumenical movement bearing the same historic name given by its founders, but not holding to much of their historic teachings!  Even as recently as October, 2012, the General Conference (GC) went on record regarding  the question of human sexuality, and made this definitive statement, which also supports the theology of Dr. Eric Wash on the charge for which he being assailed:

“Seventh‑day Adventists believe that sexual intimacy belongs only within the marital relationship of a man and a woman. This was the design established by God at creation. The Scriptures declare: “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh” (Gen 2:24, NIV). Throughout Scripture this heterosexual pattern is affirmed. The Bible makes no accommodation for homosexual activity or relationships.  Sexual acts outside the circle of a heterosexual marriage are forbidden (Lev 18:5-2326Lev 20:7‑21; Rom 1:24‑27; 1 Cor 6:9‑11). Jesus Christ reaffirmed the divine creation intent: “‘Haven’t you read,’ he replied, ‘that at the beginning the Creator “made them male and female,” and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh?” So they are no longer two, but one'” (Matt 19:4‑6, NIV). For these reasons Seventh-day Adventists are opposed to homosexual practices and relationships.” — (Emphasis with italics are mine.)

In spite of this position statement by the General Conference (GC), the Southern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, on May 6th, 2014, issued a press release in the wake of the uproar surrounding Dr. Walsh’s 8-year old sermons, excerpts of which are quoted below:

“Dr. Walsh serves the congregation of the Altadena Seventh-day Adventist Church as an associate pastor on a part-time basis. However, he does not hold ministerial credentials from the Adventist Church, does not speak on behalf of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination, and as far we know, does not represent his views as anything other than his own.…The Seventh-day Adventist Church believes that all people, regardless of race, gender, age, creed, and sexual orientation, are children of God, whom he loves equally. As a Christian community we are called to reflect and spread this love to all of His children.” —

Clearly, the GC and SCC are not speaking the same message; they are not singing the same song, and they are certainly not reading from the same proverbial sheet of music!  In light of this fact, the question is clear: will the real Seventh-day Adventists please stand up!  Will the real Christians in the Seventh-day Adventist Denomination please stand up!  Will the real Christians around the world, who hold to the Protestant creed of Sola Scriptura (the Bible and the Bible only is our rule of faith and doctrine) please stand up!

I urge you today to join with me and send your petitions to: Public Health Commissioner Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald, The North Georgia Health District Human Resources Director, the respective Counties (Cherokee, Fannin, Gilmer, Murray, Pickens and Whitfield) Boards of Supervisors, asking them to do the honorable thing, in compliance with their standing policy on unlawful discrimination practices, and give Dr. Wash the job he is fully qualified to lead, and has been issued an offer letter to hold.

Here is their policy statement, most recently updated in 2010, and posted on their website:

“The County Board of Health (CBH) is an equal opportunity employer and promotes an employment environment free from all aspects of unlawful discrimination.

POLICY: The CBH and its employees are subject to the provisions of federal law prohibiting unlawful discrimination on the basis of age, gender, color, disability, national origin, political affiliation, race, or religion. CBH is also subject to the provisions of the Fair Employment Practices Act as administered by the Commission on Equal Opportunity.

“It is the policy of the CBH to administer a personnel management program in compliance with the equal employment opportunity laws, rules, and regulations cited above. The CBH is committed to employment practices which afford opportunities for employment and advancement based upon merit and job-related criteria.” –  (italics with emphasis are mine).

Conspicuously absent from this policy is the phrase “sexual orientation,” yet a local media outlet reports that “The Health Initiative, an LGBT activist group in Georgia, sent a letter to Public Health Commissioner Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald on Thursday asking her not to hire Walsh.” —

What were their supporting grounds for retracting the offer letter of employment? His Biblical views on a range of topics—his religion, with biblical beliefs on homosexuality being the leading offender!  It was not the Evolutionary Scientists, nor the Muslims, nor even the Roman Catholics that petitioned the Commissioner, rather it was someone from an LGBT activist group!  Apparently they now have the authority to hire and fire the Public Health Director on behalf of The North Georgia Health District.

There are certain guarantees in the US constitution, and freedom from religious intolerance is one of them.  Here is the first amendment to our Bill of Rights: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” –

The United States is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and the office of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission clearly states the following, regarding religious discrimination: “Religious discrimination involves treating a person (an applicant or employee) unfavorably because of his or her religious beliefs. The law protects not only people who belong to traditional, organized religions, such as Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism, but also others who have sincerely held religious, ethical or moral beliefs.” (Emphasis with italics are mine)

To protect other Christians in the workplace, I am personally appealing to Dr. Walsh to take up his case with the EEOC.  You may go here to start the proceedings:  Your case exhibits all the characteristics of unlawful discrimination based on your religious beliefs—a protected right for every American citizen and resident alien of the United States.  Even terrorists who are within the domicile of the USA, are also accorded these inalienable rights.  Please be aware that there is a statute of limitations (6-months) during which to file, so get the ball rolling now, because time is of the essence.  While you petition the EEOC, the rest of us will be vigilant in the closet of prayer to our Redeemer and King.  Be aware that yours is a precedent-setting case, which can have far-reaching in America, and around the world where same-sex marriage laws have been adopted.

My outrage, however, is not with the LGBT group, because they are avowed and sincere sinners, and sinners will always do what sinners do best— they commit sins with impunity and reckless abandon.  My real outrage is with the Southern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, who have essentially disowned a child of theirs at a time when he needs their motherly love and protection the most!

At this point, it is important for you to see Dr. Wash’s summary bio, posted at the Altadena Seventh-day Adventist Church where he is the legitimate Associate Pastor:

“He [Dr. Walsh] is currently the Director/Health Officer for the City of Pasadena Health Department in Pasadena, CA, as well as being the immediate former President of the California Academy of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Walsh is on staff at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in the Family Medicine Department and lectures for multiple programs at Loma Linda University. He is also an adjunct Professor at the University of California Irvine.

“Dr. Walsh served under the current and previous White House Administrations on the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. He has served on committees with the Centers for Disease Control and has worked with many grass roots organizations in Southern California to improve the health of at-risk populations.

“He is also an associate Pastor, here at the Altadena Seventh-day Adventist Church in Altadena, CA.  Dr. Walsh is a much sought-after speaker with his ministry taking him all over the world. He is dedicated to serving the Lord through his preaching and medical ministries.” –

With this proud bio of the Associate Pastor for this church, no one from the SCC distanced themselves from him, when he preached and converts were won to the faith coming with their lucrative tithes and offerings, he was considered “one of us.”  But now, that the rebels against YHWH’s laws have raised their voices for his social and economic destruction, the church leaders scurried for hiding, like frightened mice before the prowling cat, and offered Dr. Wash to the marauding crowd as the sacrificial lamb, instead of standing with him in honor of truth and righteousness.  This is an insult to the cause of truth and a slap in God’s face.  Looking down the pathway of time He declared, “(14)  And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. (15)  Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.” Isa. 59: 14, 15.

The above verses are self-explanatory and needs no further elucidation.  Here further, is what the Bible says: “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” Isa. 49: 15.

The Bible uses a “woman” to symbolize a Church system (Jer. 6: 2), a pure woman (Rev. 12: 1) represents the true church (body of true worshipers), and a vile lascivious woman (Rev. 17: 3- 5) represents an apostate church (body of false believers).  This woman in Isaiah, in this connection, is a symbol of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who does not “have compassion on the son of her womb!”  Yet, the divine promise is that we should expect more of this to go on: “yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.”

Friend, Christ has engraved your name in the palms of his hands, and he did this when he hung on Calvary’s cross for your sins and mine.  When he looks in his hands, he sees your face there and mine. Truly did He say, “I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls (faces) are continually before me.” Isa. 49: 16.

In the backdrop of what you’ve just read, now look at what the local media in Pasadena is saying about the SCC’s decision against Dr. Walsh:  (Please read this news)

It is important to see the timeline:  Dr. Walsh was offered the Job on or about May 8th.  On May 14th he tendered his resignation with his current employers, and based on various villainous media reports against his Biblical and orthodox Christian beliefs, on May 16th, the offer was rescinded, two days after he had resigned from his current job!  There is no remorse in the media for his financial survival, instead, they are all gloating that he has lost the job in GA, and is essentially now unemployed!  The bigger problem, however, is to see that his enemies were strengthened by the SCC’s decision in distancing itself from the dear Pastor, on May 6th.  The press release of theirs gave the enemies of truth the “green light,” to think that the Legal Department from the GC will cast a blind eye as well, and will not draw them in Court over this despicably unethical and discriminatory act.  In other words, by their own actions, the SCC has aided and abetted to, and provided material support for the enemies of our faith, thereby causing injury to Dr. Walsh, resulting in his being out of his job today!

Where does this leave us as Christians, and most of all as Seventh-day Adventists?  This is a troubling question, and must not be lightly treated, for discrimination against one is discrimination against all.  And while Dr. Walsh might be well-connected, and will survive this season with limited financial scars, that will not necessarily be the same for everyone else who does not have his credentials, and this can hasten a season of great economic and social distress for us!  If you are a Bible-believing Christian, even if you’re from a different faith than the SDA’s, don’t think for a moment that you are safe.  You are also the target of this illegal and evil rage.  Remember the story of Esther?  Hayman was not interested solely in destroying Mordecai, rather he wanted to annihilate the entire population of Jewish people who dwelt in the Persian Empire!  Similarly today, the LGBT political agenda of intolerance, like Hayman’s gallows, is primarily directed towards those who hold the Bible as their only rule of faith and doctrine, because they know it condemns their lascivious lifestyle.  If you think I am the little boy crying “wolf!” think again, and reflect on this news clip below:

“If Dr. Eric Walsh loses his position as the city’s public health department director because of his beliefs, it will set a precedent to rewrite job applications and change hiring standards for city officials, for anyone seeking management jobs and any position of influence, and possibly for anyone seeking a job.” –

This is why you must do your part and contact The North Georgia Health District immediately, and petition them on behalf of Dr. Walsh.  You will not just be helping Dr. Walsh out, but you may be securing your present or future job!  If this precedent is allowed to go unchallenged, this will be a sad day for the descendants of the Puritans who came to these shores in search of religious tolerance, and instead have heaped unto themselves and their children religious bigotry!

As a student of prophecy, I will tell you where this is leading; it will lead to the “never again!” statement from a vexatious electorate and policy makers.  How, you may ask?  Currently there are 17 States which have legalized same gender marriages, with two in appeals, which by all indications will be won, and raise the number of states to 19.  When that number reaches 34, or 2/3 of the States in the union, then the Federal Government can and will step in to federalize this statute, thereby making it the law of the land.  At some time in the future, when polygamous marriages are also endorsed, and marrying one’s pet, or next of kin, etc. with the baleful biological and sociological changes, it will be moved to uproot this evil.  The historians will remember a time when things were different, and when the changes became evident, and citizens will lobby their elected official to repeal this “same gender” marital arrangement.  This will be an ultra-conservative Christian right-wing movement.  They will have control of the Congress and the White House, and they will vow—“never again!”  Never again, shall we cave in to this experiment in human sexuality!  Never again will we allow unbridled freedoms!  Never again will we allow people to break God’s commandments with impunity, hence we must enforce morality!  And this will be the dangerous swing of the morality pendulum, which will smite everyone who does not “worship” in conformance with congressional decrees.

This might sound like fictional tales to you, but it’s already written in the Bible for nearly 2000 years now, let’s take a read:

11 Then I saw a second beast [USA], coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb [Republicanism and Protestantism], but it spoke like a dragon [Satan]. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast [Papacy of the inquisitorial ages] on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast [papal image], whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image [this is how the Papal beast will be worshiped] in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath [life—actionable to make laws] to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause [by force of law and will] all who refused to worship the image to be killed16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads.” Rev. 13: 11-16, NIV. [Brackets were added by me].

I don’t have time and space to develop this subject, but if you tune into my Bible Study on Sabbath afternoons at 5: 30 pm EST, these Signs of the Times topics are reviewed with great details. Join the Bible Conference here: 805-399-1000, PIN: 121929#

From the passage above, you will notice that the central focus of this beast’s tyranny, is on the grounds of “worship.”  Don’t be deceived that America and the world, for that matter will continue unabated in their secular, lawless and unchristian cultures.  This will give rise to a highly reformative Christian orthodoxy, one which will be forced upon all people on the pain of economic isolation and death.

Let me leave these warning counsels with you:

11 Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. 12 The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.” Rom. 13: 11-14, ASV.

Yours for a closer walk with the King, that you may be a transforming blessing.

Shalom in Messiah,

This Blog has been moved to:; Adventist Pastor, DR Walsh Lost The Job Offer Because He Preaches The Bible

My Fellow Israelite:

Recently, I brought to your attention the case of Dr. Walsh, a Seventh-day Adventist Pastor/ Physician, who is the current Public Health Director for the City of Pasadena, CA.  It is with sadness that I share the news that Dr. Walsh’s job offer letter was rescinded by his future employers simply on the grounds of his Theology!

Dr. Walsh is a Black Scientist & Theologian, and the location where he has been recently offered a job has the Whitest population in that State — North Georgia.  According to the news release: “The North Georgia Health District covers Cherokee, Fannin, Gilmer, Murray, Pickens and Whitfield counties.” —

All these Northern GA Counties have white populations ranging from 62.2% to 96.1%, and this demographic chose to hire a black man as their region’s Public Health Director, showing that his race was not a factor!  But prejudice and discrimination of a baser sort is now standing in his way—His religious convictions against the homosexual, same-sex marriage agenda!  They have stalked him from Pasadena CA to Atlanta GA, and he is being hounded and treated like a pedophile for his beliefs! And there are many people and movements who are rejoicing at this!  Let’s pray for the pastor, and strengthen our resolves, because it is coming to a home and a church near you, your home or mine could very easily be the next target very soon!

I did a search on the demographics of Northern GA Counties where Dr. Walsh would have served: Cherokee, Fannin, Gilmer, Murray, Pickens and Whitfield counties.  My aim was to see if his race had anything to do with their decision, and then even more to see if the demographic he would have been serving had any bearing on the decision made to rescind his job offer letter.  Here is what the public records show:

County Population in 2012 % Whites
White Non-Hispanic Alone
Cherokee 221,315 81.30% 0
Fannin 23,492 96.10% 0
Gilmer 28,190 88.60% 0
Murray  39,392 85.00% 0
Pickens 29,268 94.50% 0
Whitfield 103,359 62.20% 0
Total 405,624 *84.62% 0

* This percentage is a weighted average of all six counties.

How stunning to learn that the community he would have served has an average White, non-Hispanic population of 85%, with a LGBTQ population of 0%.  This record is very telling that his race had nothing to do with the decision, because he had to have personally sat through the interview, and upon assessing all competing candidates, for this top-notch job among an employee body of 6,000, is a testimony in itself to his impeccable qualifications for the job!  Observe that there are no citizens from the LGBTQ community in the area of his service.

This is reverse discrimination, now we are seeing false employment restrictions set in place, to bully Christians from expressing their convictions.  At last check, no one from the LGBT community is being oppressed or denied employment for their orientation, but the same cannot be said for the many cases we see afloat, attacking Christians from their equal right to free speech!

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” Isa. 54: 17

It is my hope and prayer that the truth of this evil be revealed and exposed for the thinking public to realize that this fine doctor is being marginalized and denied access to employment because of his religious convictions, in an era of “equal opportunity employment!”  Let’s not hold grudges, but learn our lesson, and learn it well, that this is only the tip of a larger iceberg. One which will restrict our buying and selling privileges on pain of death (Rev. 13: 15), except we agree to “worship” in conformance with the mark (image) of the beast system.

Shalom in Messiah,

This Blog has been moved to:; Please Pray for Pastor (Dr) Walsh Right Now–His New Job is On The Line!

There are forces at work seeking to take away the source of income form Pastor (Dr) Walsh because of sermons he preached exalting YHWH’s Law and exposing homosexuality as sin. He is being hounded now wherever he goes. Read the News here:

I call this the first phase of our religious persecution. This is an economic persecution as well, which can ultimately force him from “buying or selling.” Let us pray and gain courage for what’s around the pike. The persecution of Pastor (Dr) Walsh it totally unconstitutional, but no one in that circus seems to be recognizing this.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
